⚠️ Phishing Alert: Fake “Webmail Verification” Emails

  • Friday, 24th October, 2025
  • 13:46pm

Today, one of our clients received a phishing email that appears to come from “cPanel Webmail.”
These fraudulent messages are becoming increasingly convincing and closely mimic legitimate system notifications.

The email asks you to verify your email address by clicking a button labeled “Continue Verification Here” and warns that your account will expire soon.
⚠️ Do not click any links or provide any information. This message is not sent by 040Hosting or cPanel.

How to recognize the fake email:

The sender address is not from your hosting domain or 040Hosting.

It uses urgency (“expires on 24th Oct 2025”) to trick you into acting quickly.

The “Continue Verification” button links to a non-cPanel domain.

The tone and layout imitate Webmail or cPanel branding, but it’s fraudulent.

If you receive such an email:

Do not click any links or open attachments.

Do not reply to the message.

Report or delete the email immediately.

If you’ve clicked the link or entered any information, change your password immediately and contact us for assistance.

Your security is our priority — when in doubt, always verify by contacting our support team directly at https://040support.nl

Stay alert and stay safe online!
