We understand it can be frustrating when something isn’t working, but to help you better, we need a bit more information. If you send a support ticket saying, "I can’t connect to the website or service," along with the error you see, it doesn’t give us enough to figure out what’s wrong. Don’t worry—we’ll guide you on what we need!

Here’s what you can do to help us troubleshoot effectively:

Step 1: Find the IP Address of the Affected System

We need the IP address of the system that’s having the issue. Without this, we can’t check our logs or figure out the problem.

  • To find your IP address, go to https://myip.040hosting.eu.
  • If this page also doesn’t load, please let us know, but proceed with step 2 anyways.

Step 2: Run a Traceroute Test from the Affected System

A traceroute helps us see the path your connection takes to reach the website or service. Here’s how to do it depending on your operating system:

For Windows:

  1. Click Start and select Run (or use the search bar).
  2. Type command and press Enter to open the Command Prompt.
  3. In the Command Prompt, type:
    tracert yourdomain.com
(replace yourdomain.com with the domain you’re having issues with, e.g., 040services.net)
  4. Copy the results and include them in your support ticket.

For Linux/Unix/Mac:

  1. Open the Terminal.
  2. Type:
    traceroute yourdomain.com
(replace yourdomain.com with the domain you’re having issues with, e.g., 040services.net)
  3. Copy the results and include them in your support ticket.

A Note About Company Networks:

If you’re using a work or office network, it might block traceroutes because of proxy servers. In this case, reach out to your network administrator, as they can run the traceroute for you.
