We have many customers asking us why they should use the Installatron upgrade option instead of their inproduct upgrade.
Of course the procedures are different for each package we will give an example when an Installatron upgrade would be better, it is up to you to decide if this also counts for the package you are using, or the procedures you use.
i.e. Wordpress does have an automatic upgrade function. Why would someone want to use Installatron to do the upgrade in this case?
The answer is easy; while the upgrade function in Wordpress is a good and handy one, it lacks in making backups, Installatron can make a backup of your installation, and even let you roll back to your previous versions if this is needed.
Moral is that you should ALWAYS backup your site before you make important changes like an version upgrade.
