Of course, we make backups of all the accounts, in fact we make daily, weekly and monthly backups of our shared, reseller, semi-dedicated servers, but please make sure you do also make your own backups, if your site is really large and its not possible for you to make a backup you can request 040hosting to make one for you on either DVD or USB sticks and send them over to you. (additional costs do apply). Please note that our backups are for Emergency system Restores only, we will always do our upmost to restore sites but the client stays responsible of having their own backups.
If you need off-site backups we offer this through our brand RsyncVault; http://rsyncvault.com/ or you can use an automated cPanel auto backup service like SiteAutoBackup which uses Amazon servers to backup up your data remotely.
