Should i take my shared hosting, semi-dedicated or dedicated server hosting in Europe or the USA ?
Of course this question has many answers but lets start with the basics; if most if your visitors come from Europe it is smarter to take your service in Europe; if most of your visitors however come from the USA you best choose for a service in the USA. 040Hosting offers both options.
Obviously this leaves some grey areas like when clients are located in Asia or the Middle East.
From experience we have with customers from both continents we can say it is no longer true that west-coast USA locations are the best for Asian customers, we have seen in more than one ocasion that actually the roundtimes to our european servers where faster as some of the US based providers. This isn't so crazy if you look at the distances between some countries in Asia and the USA; often our servers are simply closer. (less distance = less latency due to distance) but as said before there are many more factors playing a role here, i.e. which upstream providers your or your visitors ISP's use.
We would recommend to take a close look at your statistics if you are already running a website and see where most of your traffic is coming from, then do some tests, our sales staff is always willing to help you with some tests between different locations.
