040 Hosting does not allow catch-all e-mail address. They are not needed, and often bringing a lot of confusion to the senders of email, but worse it brings the load of a server up because of the massive amounts of spam a catch-all e-mail address causes.
How to disable catch-all on your account (its disabled by default) but if you enabled it again;
Login into cpanel, and go to Mail settings, Default Address, click Set Default Address and select the domain you want to disable it for, in the to field please type :fail:
Do not use :blackhole: while it looks blackhole would use less server resources, it will need to receive the complete email from the sender and doesnt respond with a error message which is not complying to the email standards.
:fail: will tell the sender at once the account does not exist, and will not receive the complete email.
Note from time to time we may need force the catch all to be disabled, so if you choose to enable it, it may be disabled at any time.
*** 040Hosting will from time to time automatically adjust ALL catch all email addresses to :FAIL: on it's Shared, Reseller and Semi-Dedicated servers. ***
